Afghan Handcrafted Gonjok Pendant - Large Vintage Tribal Jewelry
Large Turkman Tribal Gonjok Pendant like this old one are traditionally worn by women on a cord, chain, or leather strap. Much Turkoman Tribal Jewely is very large like this gonjok pendant. Its diamond shape with intersecting lines is said to symbolize harmony with the universe. The dangles on chains represent life-giving rain, which celebrates the feminine aspect. The 5 red glass beads are set in raised bezels and are vibrantly true in color - red is considered a sacred color from this region, and thought to bring good fortune to the wearer.
