This elegant Turkmen Tobacco-Snuff Container is also known as a Nas Kedi. It was handcrafted approximately 50 years ago of a dark dense hardwood with brass mounting and screw-off top. Boxes like these have been used for generations among the Turkmen Tribes and were usually made of small gourds. This elegant Nas Kedi container replicates the gourd shape in a sturdier hard wood and is exceptionally well made. Beautiful old piece, a joy to hold in the hand.
