Old Nuristani Tribal Jewellery Silver Earrings - Unusual Handcrafted Silver Collectible Antiques
Unique Tribal Jewellery Earrings handcrafted by Nuristani Afghani artisans of old silver. Neighbors of the Turkmen, Nuristan is located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan - legend has it that Hannibal passed through Nuristan on his way across the Alps. It is one of the most remote areas of Afghanistan, and jewelry from this region is getting harder and harder to find. These amazing large earrings are approximately 50-70 years old; they are wonderful examples of traditional Nuristani Tribal Jewelry craftsmanship and style. Great collectible antique jewellery.
These old Afghani Earrings were handcrafted in silver, although the exact silver content is unknown (Sterling Silver has 92.5% Silver and 7.5 % copper, but old Tribal Jewelry was not classified by silver or other metal percentages by local artisans). They have a rich intact patina that is so highly valued by collectors of old Tribal Jewelry.
