This Antique Tibetan Jewelry Necklace comes via Tibetan traders bringing old pieces like to Kathmandu Nepal. This is one-of-a-kind old Tibetan Jewelry made of orately handcrafted Brass and Silver. The elaborate central piece in the shape of a crescent moon was handcrafted in brass, and studded with Turquoise, Red Coral, and Real Tibetan Amber. Repeating double spirals symbolize the duality of an unfolding universe of wisdom, while the running border represents a promise of long life for the wearer. The Pendant hanging from the moon shaped portion is a comination of ornately crafted silver and brass. The upper swirls are tendril-like clouds, a tribute to Tibet's high elevation...a land of the clouds. The 5 large brass bells hanging from the lower pendant clatter with movement, lending sound to the visual beauty of this necklace.

 

Turn the lower pendant over, and the silver back is embellished with an ornate chakra circle, handmade of bronze, turquoise, and red coral. Tibetan artisans took care to decorate pieces of high value on both sides, so that the portion closest to heart also held symbolic meaning. Similarly the back of the crescent moon was etched with running scrolls of wisdom, protection, and long life for the wearer. The triple beaded side chains have been recently restrung with old beads and a Mandala circle on each side representing the 8-fold path to enlightenment.

 

This is a stunning electic and remarkable piece of one-of-a-kind antique Tibetan Jewelry handcrafted 70-100 years ago. Recently restrung, original threads worn away a long time ago.
