This extraordinary articulated necklace was handcrafted in the Tibetan plateau approximatley 70-100 years ago in high grade silver, turquoise and red coral. Large ornate silver beads are studded with red coral and turquoise set in raised silver bezels. The graduated bead sizes cascade one to the next, articulating in a serpent-like fashion to create an ethereal silver strand of elegant beauty. Each jewel-encrusted silver bead is adorned with single and double silver spirals representing the unfolding of wisdom and the strength of the dorje...or sacred thunderbolt. The serpent form has always been revered in Tibet, as the protector of Buddha and an eternal guide in both this world and the next.
