This wonderful large necklace was handcrafted in Waziristan, which extends between the Afghan and Pakistan borders. The long cascades of long chain dangles end with small and medium sided bell beads and make a jangling sound with every movement. The ornate neckland was studded with brightly colored beads in raised bezels that form repeating floral designs along the neckline. The dazzling beads in the center surround one large rectangular red stone, from which hang more chain dangles with bells. The back side has been recently relined with soft blue velvet-like fabric for comfort. Twisted maroon ties allow for adjusting the length for individual fit. Handcrafted by Waziri tribal jewelry artisans in the mid to late 1900's. Stunning exquisitely made piece well worth the price.
