This is an old Bedouin Tribal Pendant with classic Berber yellow and green enamel work on silver. It was handcrafted approximately 50-70 years ago in northern Africa by tribal artisans. The Tribal Silver dangles are carefully inscribed into quadrants, representing the four directions and stars that guide nomadic Berbers on their night time journeys. Pieces such as this pendant were originally attached to turbans or head dresses. Today they are also worn as Necklace Pendants or sewn on to belts and clothing. This amazing piece has a rich patina and wear patterns that are so highly prized by collectors of authentic old tribal jewelry.
