Old Turkmen Tribal Tenechir Jewelry - Large Pair of Temple Jewelry Pendants
This stunning pair of of Large Old Turkmen Esari Tribal Temple Pendants (Tenechir) were worn on either side of the face along the temples. The Tenechir pendants frame and accentuate the face while moving and jangling with every step. Each pendant has a hooked bail, allowing it to be hung from head pieces or scarves in the traditional way.
Turkmen Tribal Jewelry is known for being large and dramatic, like these gorgeous tenechir temple pendants. Some consider the large size a throw-back to ancient times when Turkmen women were warriors along side their men...the size of their jewelry being reminiscent of the armor they used to wear in battle long ago.
