Old Tibetan Pendant Necklace in Turquoise and Engraved Silver

A very special Turquoise Tibetan Pendant Necklace. The Tibetan Pendant in this Necklace is an amazing old Tribal Jewelry piece. The stone is Tibetan Turquoise with a beautiful matrix - the distinctive webbed pattern that is so highly prized in quality turquoise. The setting is of high grade .950 Silver (higher than Sterling Silver). The entire back of the setting is an ornate floral design that was handcrafted by a tribal artisan using the repousse technique. More elaborate than etching, this technique creates raised areas in the silver pattern to accentuate the design. The deep silver setting includes a tiger-tooth edging that completely encircles the turquoise pendant, symbolizing that the wearer will be fiercely protected. This wonderful Old Tibetan Pendant is estimated about 50-70 years old. It has a mild patina that I have not removed since collectors value patina on old pieces. (The patina can be removed if you prefer, although it adds to the value).

The Necklace itself is handstrung with fine quality natural turquoise nuggets and Sterling Silver findings. Exceptional quality. Collectible.
