Large "Saddle" Ring - Tibetan Tribal Jewelry in Sterling Silver - Choice of Stones
Gorgeous Large Tibetan Tribal Jewelry Rings handcrafted in Sterling Silver with choice of Turquoise, Red Coral, and lapis Lazuli stones. This traditional style is called a "Saddle" Ring because it is shaped like a stylized Yak saddle.
Similar to cattle, Yak are herd animals found in the Himalayas. They are treasured possessions in Tibetan Tribal culture and are often treated as valued members of the family. Yak are used as beasts of burden, and also provide transportation, wool, hides, horns, milk, and meat. They are said to be extremely beautiful and very affectionate creatures. Art and jewelry is often made in shapes associated with the Yak to express great appreciation and prosperity. This style of ring represents a stylized Yak saddle, with its slightly raised ends. This substantial contemporary ring was handcrafted by Tibetan Tribal Jewelry artisans living in exile in Nepal. Fair Trade item.
