This Stunning Turkmen Asyk (Asik) Pendant with Carnelian and Gilded Silver was handcrafted by Afghan Tribal Jewelry artisans living in Peshawar along the Afghan border. This amazing contemporary piece was created using the ancient granulation technique in which tiny beads of silver are fused in ornate patterns to the silver base. The entire piece is then gold washed (gilded) to accent the resulting design. The repeating pyramid patterns are classically associated with the Turkmen tribes in the Khazakistan region. The 3-dimensional upper rounded portion has an ample hole for threading your favorite chain or ribbon.
