Old Turkoman Amulet Pendant - Afghan Khazaki Silver and Lapis Lazuli Tribal Jewely.
This wonderful old Turkoman amulet pendant was handcrafted by Afghan artisans using ancient Khazaki tribal techniques of Silver Granulation and Gold Wash (gold gilding). Tiny pieces of high quality silver are fused to the body of the silver pendant to create classic Khazaki designs. Gold gilding is then carefully applied to highlight the design, leaving the elevated Silver exposed. The pendant is 3 dimensional, over 1/4 inch high - the sealed space between the front and back of the pendant forms a secret "amulet compartment" for safely holding the prayers, blessings, and wishes of good fortune that are bestowed on the wearer. This is a beautiful piece of old tribal jewelry that is perfect for daily wear or for adding to personal Collection...or both.
