Bannu Turkmen Large Tribal Pendant from Afghanistan - Unusual Goldwashed Vintage Banizi Tribal Jewelry
This unusual large vintage Turkmen Pendant was handcrafted in the Bannu region of Afghanistan during the 1900's. It has two parts connected by 3 chains. The lower portion is a magnificient 3 dimensional pendant encrusted with beads, goldwash, and loads of dangles, with an ornate surface design of the Banizi tribe. The upper portion consists of multiple dangles attached to a Central bird figure, considered sacred in the Turkmen cultures. There is both a loop for hanging this gorgeous Bannu Tribal pendant from a chain or ribbon around the neck or waist. There is also a metal peg if you prefer to slide it through a button hole, to be worn at the neck or along another closure. Has rich patina intact to delight collectors.
This is a beautiful and unusual vintage piece that we haven't seen elsewhere. Banizi Turkmen jewelry at it's finest.
